Compliance with international trade sanctions

Royal Van Leeuwen strictly complies with national and international sanctions regulations, including, but not limited to, those from the United States of America, the United Nations, and the European Union. Suppliers of Van Leeuwen are held to the same strict standards, via the Van Leeuwen Supplier Sustainability Code. These sanctions regulations include the sanctions against Russia and Belarus as a response to the military aggression against Ukraine.

In line with EU Council Regulation (EU) No 833/2014, EU Council Regulation 2022/428 of March 15, 2022 and (EU) 2023/1214 of 23 June 2023, restrictions are implemented for (pre) material originating from Russia. Article 3 g prohibits to import, directly or indirectly, iron and steel products as listed in Annex XVII into the Union if they: originate in Russia; or have been exported from Russia. This article also prohibits (i) to purchase, directly or indirectly, iron and steel products as listed in Annex XVII which are located, or which originated in Russia and (ii) to transport iron and steel products as listed in Annex XVII if they originated in Russia or are being exported from Russia to any other country. Based on UK Regulation 461A and 461B in Chapter 4CA of part 5 of the 2023 Regulations and UK Schedule 3B the same applies for the United Kingdom.
